Agriculture in Etah
People of Etah mostly depend on agriculture for their living. Agriculture is the main activity in Etah with the region being located on the Doab, which is an area between the two important rivers of India, Yamuna and Ganga. The crops that are grown profusely in the Doab region of Etah include maize, bajra, jowar, barley, wheat and rice. Water is found abundant in the Doab region for the irrigation of the cultivable lands due to the proximity of Doab to the two most important perennial rivers of India. Tobacco is grown in the nearby town of Raja Ka Rampur for its soil is fittingly fertile for the production of tobacco.

Etah has moderate sub-tropical climactic conditions like any other northern state of India. During the winters the temperature drops down immensely below 10oC, more at nights in winter and reaches up to near about 40oC during the summer months. Loo, hot waves blowing in the summer months make the days almost unbearable. Etah experiences moderate rainfall throughout the monsoons and even scarcer during the other months of the year.
